Des Moines Center applicants who have attended another college or university should apply as transfer students. Admissions requirements for graduate programs vary. Graduate applicants should consult with their program for specific information.

Application Process

  • Submit an application (see the steps listed above)
  • Pay the $40 application fee
    • The fee is not refundable.
  • Upload your academic records
    • Within your Admissions Profile on the Iowa Student Information System, upload all required transcripts from every college and university you have attended
  • If you are transferring fewer than 24 semester hours of credit:
    • Have your ACT or SAT scores sent by the testing agency
    • Our institution code is 1356 for the ACT; 6681 for the SAT
    • Have your high school(s) send us your final transcript:

After You Apply

When we receive your application, we will send you a Hawk ID and password to track the status of your application through your Admissions Profile on MyUI.

  • Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after Jan. 1 as possible, even if you are not sure you will qualify for aid


Admitted Students

  • Upon admission, forward your official academic records
  • Ask every college and university you have attended to provide your official records or transcripts. Transcripts can be uploaded via your admissions profile or mailed to:
