The Bachelor of Applied Studies degree is intended for working adults who are balancing professional growth and busy lives. Students must have completed an Associate degree and be interested in completing their Bachelor degree online. The BAS is completely online and can be taken from anywhere with a high-speed internet connection. Students living in the Iowa City area may mix on campus courses with online course work.

Course work

The BAS online degree allows you to develop an individualized general studies program with selected Distribution areas. Optionally, students may also choose to incorporate Emphasis Areas or Certificate programs giving them a more focused degree.

Admission requirements

  • 60 s.h. of transferable college credit including career/technical credits
  • AA, AS, or AAS from an accredited institution
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or above for graduates of Iowa community colleges
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above for graduates of community colleges outside Iowa
